DANGER: Hiding wires in walls

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Sorry this post wasn't put up on Friday - I thought that I had set it to automatically post, but I guess it didn't work!

Today's Freaky Friday post is about what a dangerous idea it is to hide wires in walls. There are many blog posts out there from folks who were like, "Oh look what I did it was so easy to just hide these wires in the walls!"

I am here to save you so much headache, friends.

First of all, it is against the National Electric Code to put power wires through walls.
Well, it's not like they are going to come into your house and check your power wires, but there are bigger problems at stake.

There is an issue when it comes to home insurance. If an electrical fire breaks out in your home, the insurance company can rightfully refuse to pay you if they discover that you had power wires hidden in your walls!

Instead, use a PowerBridge ONE-CK Recessed In-Wall Cable Management System with PowerConnect for Wall-Mounted Flat Screen LED, LCD, and Plasma TV's for hiding your cords in your walls properly and according to the NAC:

With this thing, you can legally (and without fear of a total loss should your home burn down), install those power cords in the walls.
Good luck!
